So I dedicded to possibly use the drive as non-critical temporary media storage. If so, assign a new drive letter and see if the operating system now recognizes it. I've run Windows tools, DOS tools, manufacturer tools (it's a Seagate, so SeaTools), and nothing ever turns up even a hint of a problem with the disk. So is the 1500 watt PSU worth the expenditure? However, the new build I am working on now has greater power requirements and a 1500w Gold rating PSU is a case of better than being sorry. It would be odd to have more than one go bad at a time, but it is something you might want to check.
