Do a disk cleanup on drive C: and then install IE 11. Considering that Tim just did a Windows Repair install, his entire system had to be re-patched; as he noted, all of his updates had to download again (with the exception of Hopefully a solutions will be in my future - or I could just throw this notebook in the lake........I appreciate your help. So, another solution to bypass the error 9C59 during Windows Update, is to delete (or rename) that folder* and restart your computer.
