He said that many other users had the same problem and that my computer was scheduled to be updated tio fix that problem by mid May. System Restore is also less necessary thanks to other features in Windows 10 that can quickly get your Windows system back to a fresh state without a full reinstallation of Windows. I too am use to it.
I have had so many crashes that I now leave my laptop on all the time as when it shuts down I can't depend on it starting again. I was getting all sorts of messages portraying all manner of disasters possibly happening. I rely instead on free third party software for backups saved on an external disk. System Restore is a utility provided by the Windows 7 Operating System that affects Windows system files, programs, and registry settings. The option to enable just does not compute....for the everyday user and that I am VERY uncomfortable with.
If the problem was caused by a recent update, you can look at uninstalling that Windows Update or reverting to a previous "build" of Windows 10.
